My name is Courtney Rife. I earned my Bachelors of Arts at Xavier University with a Theology major and Psychology minor. I have a passion for living a holistic life. I've personally experienced pain every day for well over a year after being injured at work while protecting a student from being attacked ,and felt depleted of energy. When I started eating different foods, including more fruits and vegetables, less processed foods, and sugar, I experienced so much improvement. Eliminating certain foods from my diet such as wheat, gluten, and dairy played a substantial role in my healing and recovery process. After learning how to fall in love with healthy whole foods, and experiencing great benefits (recovery from pain and inflammation), I wanted to share this experience with children, family, friends, and just anyone wanting to know how to live a healthy life so I worked to earn my certification as a Holistic Nutritional and Academic Coach. I also decided to adopt a 90%, 10% whole food, plant based lifestyle!
I NEVER thought I would be able to exercise again but then I went hiking in Greece! After that, I went scuba diving! Pain used to be my middle name. I literally felt it every second, minute, hour, and day for over 365 days. I would get to a point of feeling okay but ruin it every single time I exercised no matter how light. The biggest change came when I changed my dietary habits and learned to regulate stress and trauma through gentle exercise and relaxation techniques. NET was beneficial. Exercise is now my friend again. Exercise, stretching, and relaxation are all keys to creating and developing the new healthy lifestyle that will contribute to weight loss, muscle toning, more energy ,and even play a role in reversing diseases such as heart disease.
Studies show that many of the illnesses that affect the lives of Americans and even those who adopt a western (American) diet, do not exist in places ( called blue zones) like Ikaria, Greece because of the fact that they eat more whole food, plant- based foods and live a lifestyle that requires them to self care by doing things like taking a nap in the daytime. Their food and lifestyle provide the perfect environment for long and healthy living.
*We will identify the causes of your nutritional depletion/imbalance – rather it’s a lack of energy because of mitochondrial burn out (chronic fatigue) or the food you are eating causing you diabetes or heart disease.
* We will remove the causes and replace them with alternative solutions geared toward restoring your individual needs.
* We will create a meal plan that facilitates detoxification, building/regulating a stronger immune system, and a balanced whole food, plant based diet which will lead to the reversal of some illnesses, the halting of others and even weight loss or gain, whichever is desired.
*We will not be on a diet but will be moving toward effective lifestyle changes to make food our medicine by utilizing meal plans or guidelines for eating in a balanced and optimally nutritious way.
*We will create an individual action plan for exercise and relaxation techniques to manage/eliminate stress and anxiety.
*We will create a strong support system not only with coach and client but outside of the coach in order to maintain success on a lifetime basis.
*We will provide small group and personalized meals and meal preparation sessions where you will leave with meals ready for your week.
This option includes a 28 day meal plan only. We will increase your vegetable and fruit intake. We will eliminate foods that cause you discomfort or allergic reactions. We will individualize your plan to fit your holistic wellness goals. We will utilize food as medicine no matter if you are living with chronic diseases, pain, depression/anxiety or just wanting to take your plant based eating to the next level while also enjoying the taste of your food!
